Fuchsite Pendant

Fuchsite set in sterling silver pendant. It is rare to find fuchsite in jewelry as it is a flaky for of mica that does cut well nor polish. The designer found a "chuck" of fuchsite in Germany that seemed solid and here is one of the few pendants that was made. The green color is due to the presence of Chromium and the reddish areas are garnet. The pendant has an oversized bail and is app. 2 1/2 inches long and 1 inch wide.
